See our disclaimer. After more than a decade as a victim of the commercial sex industry, Annie Lobert shares not only her redemption story but those of others involved in sex trafficking. When Annie grabbed at what looked like an opportunity to escape her tumultuous, abuse-filled home, she had never heard the term "sex trafficking. All that glittered was not gold. She embarked on a dangerous path toward self-destruction. She lost everything she envisioned her new life would bring her, even her own identity.
It's easy to go through days, weeks, even years on autopilot, moving from one activity to another, rarely taking the time to consider what it's all for anyway. Why did God make us? What does he want us to do with the time he has given us? In her best-selling story-driven style, Christian rocker Lacey Sturm shares with listeners the beautiful struggle of learning what one's unique gifts are and pursuing them wholeheartedly. She helps them see each day as a gift from God, find balance in their busy lives, and discover the joy of giving God's gifts back to him by using them to bring him glory.
Early one morning in May, , a young couple in the mountains of Colorado spotted a man dragging a body up a secluded trail. The man fled, leaving behind a bloody, dying woman. The investigation into the death of young street-walker Anita Paley would lead from that idyllic spot to the seamy underbelly of Denver and a world of prostitution, drug dealers, and violent criminals.
And it would expose the lives of suspect Robert Riggan and Anita's friend Joanne Cordova, a former cop-turned-crack-addict and hooker. Human trafficking is not just something that happens in other countries. Nor is it something that just happens to "other people," such as runaways or the disenfranchised.
Even kids in your own neighborhood can fall victim. But they don't have to. When Annie grabbed at what looked like an opportunity to escape her tumultuous, abuse-filled home, she had never heard the term sex trafficking. Needing money, wanting to be loved, and desperately seeking control of her life, she stumbled into the ever-darkening world of the sex industry as a glamorous, high-class escort in Las Vegas.
All that glittered was not gold. She embarked on a dangerous path toward self-destruction. She lost everything she envisioned her new life would bring her, even her own identity. Beatings, abandonment, and death threats became routine - she often wondered if dying would be the best way out.
In Fallen Annie tells her remarkable story of surviving 16 years in the sex industry, breaking free, finding healing, and then reaching back to help others find freedom as well. This riveting memoir opens a window into a sordid, shadowy world - and shows just how bright God's light can truly shine. What made the experience of listening to Fallen the most enjoyable? Annie Lobert is a great narrator. She totally gave life to the text. Who was your favorite character and why?
Annie after her resigning as Fallon was my favorite character. Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry? I cried many times in many parts. Any additional comments? It is not pleasant.
It is disturbing most of the time but true. She is so sincere and heartfelt.
I am more than amazed at the progress she made. She gave me hope. Seriously, I'm in love with this book. I'm speechless against it. This book amazed me greatly: annie's sincerity, her courage to tell her story as it is. This book changed my life. I wasn't a sex worker but it helped me to realize how much I take things for granted. I love you Annie. You are awesome and I wish you all the best. I've been following Hookers for Jesus for a while, even donated to them. I never acually had a chance to hear Annies personal account.

I've had friends trafficked and that's how I discovered this ministry. It is amazing to see how God works and it is also incredible to see the transformation Annie has gone through. Definitely worth listening too. Annie has a great story and it was very educational in terms of what goes on in sex trafficking. Her story is also a great testimony on how Jesus Christ can change a life. This is a very inspirational story! Heart breaking and uplifting too. Very good book with true insights into the sex industry but also insight into how to get out of bondage no matter what the problem.

Fallen: Out of the Sex Industry & Into the Arms of the Savior
DON'T miss this book. An inside look into the sex industry like you've never seen before. Very eye opening and Annie's personal story is very inspiring albeit horrifying in parts. Unfortunately, I, personally, did not care for the narration style. When I found out it was on Audible with Lobert reading it, I thought, even better. Like a lot of people, I loved the Julia Robert's movie, Pretty Woman, but have always thought it hurt our society with it's fairy tail look at prostitution.
This is no Pretty Woman! While Lobert is a beautiful woman, inside and out, to listen to the abuse physical, mental and emotional is excruciating, and just about the time you think she will break free, your hopes are dashed. I couldn't help but think while listening that this is not only true of prostitution, but of so many toxic relationships that many of us have endured. I believe this is a good read or listen for our sons and daughters to hear and promote discussion with parents as a teaching method to avoid such dangerous traps. Listening to Annie tell her story I believe is even better than reading the book.
You really get a feel for her heart and personality through the sound of her voice that I don't believe the pages alone can convey. I must commend the production of this project. Overall, I highly recommend this book. It's a testimony of the Lord's power and just how much pain satan causes through the sex trafficking industry. The actual raw details of the pimp and prostitutes relationship!
What did you like best about this story? She got the hell away from there! Her realness and being completey honest. Loved listening to her voice. Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
